The Resurrection of Jesus
The key event that Christians stand on is that Jesus died on a cross and then rose from the grave 3 days later; Jesus’ resurrection is what we celebrate at Easter.
If Jesus didn’t actually rise from the grave, then the foundations that we stand on as Christian’s crumble under our feet. BUT if Jesus really did rise from the grave, then this changes everything.
The argument that “no one really knows” could be used here, but below are some videos that might provide some food for thought – if Jesus didn’t rise from the dead then what explains the empty tomb?
What does the resurrection mean?
What do Christians believe about the resurrection, and why is it worth celebrating?
Reasons to believe in the resurrection
If you don’t believe Jesus Christ rose from the dead, you are still left with an empty tomb that needs to be explained. Here are some alternative explanations as to why the tomb was empty, and why those explanations don’t hold up.
Reasons to believe in the resurrection - part 2
In the first part, we saw how alternative explanations to the empty tomb aren’t very convincing. Here are some further reasons for believing the resurrection really did happen.
