Signs of growth
Faith Rose
Last week in City Kids we looked at the story of the Good Samaritan and that got me thinking….
Our elderly neighbour has a beautiful garden and her son usually visits regularly to mow the grass, but since the lockdown started he hasn’t been able to visit her. I love it when my own garden looks neat, so I thought we could show love by offering to mow hers.
She was really grateful for the offer and we let ourselves in through the gate and spent an hour as a family mowing, strimming and weeding her garden. I even had a chance to pray for her health.
It initially felt awkward asking her, but it wasn’t difficult to do the mowing (although Simon says that’s because he did the hard work!) and it was a great way for us to grow better at loving our neighbour.
