We will be meeting at a new venue for our Sunday services from Sunday 11 June 2023
We currently meet at St Stephen’s Junior School which has been a huge blessing for us over the years, but the time has come for us to move to our new venue which will be:
The Canterbury Academy,
Knight Ave, Canterbury CT2 8QA
Why the move?
1. Room to Grow
Julian Adams shared a word for the church in summer 2021 that talked about us breaking through the water marker of the Church. He felt it represented the size of our congregation and that we’ve never been able to grow beyond a certain size. God is promising us that this next season will see us grow to a size we’ve never reached before. We are responding in faith to this word and are moving to a bigger venue to allow room for growth.
2. We’ve outgrown our current space
Our Sunday meetings have grown by 20% in the last year and are at the point where there is no more room in the main hall, with similar challenges being faced by City Kids. We are moving not only in expectation for what God is going to do but also in response to what he has already done.
3. Family move
We received a prophetic word from Angela, a member of our church, who shared a picture of the elders wearing velcro and the church sticking to them and us all moving together. We believe this move is for our good as a family, it will strengthen the unity of the Church and open new opportunities for each of us to grow.
4. Future sending
We believe we are called to be a sending church, a resourcing church, and a multi-site church. Our hope is that this move will allow us to grow to send, bless and multiply. We trust that as God grows us in this next season, he will also be calling people to pioneer into new places locally, nationally, and globally.
